Figures for February 2014 revised upwards to 5.03% from 4.68%
The wholesale price index (WPI) based inflation eased to 5.20% in April 2014 compared to 5.70% in March 2014. All the sub-groups contributed the decline in inflation for April 2014.The inflation for primary articles eased to 7.1% in March 2014 from 7.7% in March 2014. The inflation for fuel and power group also declined from six-month high of 11.2% in March 2014 to 8.9% in April 2014, while the inflation for manufactured products also dipped to 3.15% in April 2014.
As per the revised data available, the inflation figure for February 2014 has been revised upwards to 5.03% from 4.68% reported earlier.
