Nearly 1.50 lakh people are still marooned in the areas of the Kashmir Valley submerged in flood waters, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said.

At an all-party meeting Saturday, he said that even though 1.42 lakh people have been rescued in the recent floods that ravaged the state, nearly 1.50 lakh are still stranded in the Valley alone.

He also said properties and infrastructure worth Rs.6,000 crores has been destroyed in the floods.

Authorities Sunday told IANS that 45 percent of the total electricity supply to the Srinagar city has been restored.
