At least 10 people were killed and 34 injured Tuesday in a car bomb explosion in this Iraqi capital, an official said.
The attack took place when a booby-trapped car went off during the morning rush hour at a crowded area in the Shia district of New Baghdad, the official told Xinhua.
Another deadly attack occurred at the same district Monday when a suicide bomber blew up his explosive vest among worshippers during the noon prayers at a Shia mosque, located in the centre of a popular market in the district, leaving eight people killed and 26 injured.
The attack came at a time when sectarian tension have been running high after a deadly attack was carried out by Shia militants on a Sunni mosque that killed at least 70 people during Friday prayers in Iraq's Diyala province.
