At least 100 people have been killed in clashes between two Arab tribes in Sudan's Darfur region, a media report said Sunday.

The clashes took place between the Rizaigat tribe and the rival Ma'liya tribe in Adila area in South Darfur state Saturday, Xinhua reported.

Tension remains high in the region.

The Darfur community consists of different African and Arab tribes, among whom unrest frequently erupts due to disputes on pastures and water resources.
