A Libyan military rescue plane crashed Friday in Grombalia city in Tunisia killing 11 people on board, a spokesman of the Tunisian defence ministry said.
The Russian-made plane crashed killing 11 people, including three patients on board, Xinhua reported citing Tawfiq Al Rahmouni, spokesman of the Tunisian defence ministry.
Grombalia is a city located in Nabeul governorate, some 60 km from Tunisia's capital Tunis.
Rahmouni did not point out the reason behind the crash. However, he said that, according to the last call from the plane to the control tower in Tunis-Corthage airport, a fire had broken out in the aircraft.
