Eleven more Palestinians were killed Saturday in cross-border bombardment between Israel and the Islamic Hamas movement taking the toll in Gaza to 318 on the 13th day of an Israeli operation, Xinhua reported.
A health ministry spokesman said that pre-dawn and early morning airstrikes claimed the lives of 11 Palestinians in the northern and southern parts of Gaza.
The Israeli army started late Thursday a limited ground operation in Gaza after 11 days of bloody air strikes to end rocket fire into Israel.
The operation came after Egyptian and international efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza failed.
Hamas warned that Israel would pay a heavy price for commencing a ground offensive on Gaza.
On July 8, Israel started an all-out aerial operation dubbed Operation Protective Edge to stop rocket fire from Gaza.
Apart from the 318 Palestinians killed, 2,260 have been injured.
