The European Union has decided to add 11 more people to its list of sanctions over the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, media reported Saturday.

The total number of people on the sanction list has risen to 72, Xinhua reported.

According to an EU statement the 11 people, who are responsible for actions "undermining Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence", will be targeted with a travel ban and a freeze of their assets.

The legal texts with the list of persons concerned will be published in the EU Official Journal and will enter into force at the same time.
