113 killed in Nigeria clashes in March

Jos (Nigeria), April 25 (IANS) At least 113 people were killed in the violence which hit areas of Wase and Bokkos in Nigeria's north central Plateau State last month, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed Thursday.

In its report of the communal violence, the rescue agency said at least 71 people were killed in Wase in the violence that started March 19. Forty-two were killed in the violence that rocked Bokkos March 29, Xinhua reported.

A total of 4,313 people were displaced in Wase while 7,121 were displaced in Bokkos, said a report signed by the agency's coordinator in the North Central, Abdulsalam Mohammed.

 

It said a total of 109 people were injured in Bokkos, where 315 houses were either burnt or totally destroyed.
