At least 12 teenagers, including seven boys and five girls, brought from Assam and Bihar on promise of jnobs, were rescued here, police said Wednesday.

In a joint operation by Delhi Police and a non-governmental organisation Bachpan Bachao Andolan, the teenagers were rescued from Subhash Place Tuesday.

"Nine out of 12 teenagers are majors while three are minors," said a police officer.

"After raids at over 13 locations in Delhi, police managed to find the place where they were being held. With the help of binoculars, the teenagers were spotted from an opposite building," said Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner of police.

Police are on the lookout for the people running the two placement agencies that had brought the teenagers. Those running these agencies are now on the run.
