A US federal grand jury has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for alleged interference in the 2016 presidential elections.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office said on Friday that charges in the indictment include conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, Xinhua reported.
The indictment was sought by the office of Mueller, who is leading an investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the US presidential election and possible collusion between the Donald Trump campaign and Moscow.
The indictment also accuses the Internet Research Agency LLC and two other companies of orchestrating an Internet campaign to influence the presidential race through channels including social media.
