Odisha continued to reel under intense heat wave as 14 places recorded temperature above 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Highest temperature was recorded in the city of Bolangir at 43.3 degrees Celsius while Titlagarh town sizzled at 43 degrees Celsius.
Both industrial towns of Angul and Jharsuguda recorded 42.7 degrees Celsius, said the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
Coastal parts of the state, however, experienced a slight respite.
In Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature was 36.4 degrees while Cuttack recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius.
The Met Office said the heatwave would continue in the state for the next few days, making life unbearable.
