Israeli security forces arrested 15 Palestinians in raids across the West Bank overnight Saturday for being involved in rioting and Hamas membership, the Israeli army said Sunday.
One man was apprehended in Jenin, while others were nabbed in villages in Ramallah, Bethlehem and Hebron areas, Xinhua quoted an army spokeswoman as saying, adding six of the detainees are linked to Hamas and are suspected of terror-related offences.
The arrests came a day after Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian-American teen whom Palestinian sources identified as 14-year-old Orwah Hammad, in the village of Silwad near Ramallah, a flashpoint of clashes in recent weeks.
