17 IPS officers transferred in UP

The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday affected a major shake-up in the police set-up, transferring 17 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.

District police chiefs of Unnao and Sitapur have been replaced and four additional director general-level officials have also been given new assignments.

These include Avinash Chandra who has now been made ADG, recruitment and promotion board, Vijay Kumar Maurya, the new ADG, training and Mukul Goel the new ADG, CB-CID). Padmaja Chauhan has been posted out as inspector general of police, intelligence, and has now been posted as IGP, anti-corruption.

Ashutosh Pandey who was transferred as IG Railways (Allahabad) has now been posted as IG, Provincial Armed Constabulary, Eastern Zone (Lucknow).
