At least 17 people - 15 militants and two army personnel - were killed across Afghanistan in a 24-hour period, the defence ministry said on Sunday.
"A total of 15 terrorists have been killed and seven others injured over the past 24 hours," defence ministry spokesperson Zahir Azimi tweeted, reported Xinhua.
According to Azimi, the security forces also discovered and defused 19 explosive devices and anti-vehicle mines over the period.
He, however, also confirmed that the attacks and roadside bombs claimed the lives of two army personnel over the period.
