19 killed in Nigeria's capital city bomb blast

At least 19 people were killed and 52 people were injured Wednesday in a bomb attack that rocked Wuse area of Abuja, Nigeria's capital city, a security source said.

At least 41 vehicles were also destroyed in the attack, the security source told Xinhua, adding that both the dead and injured victims were taken to National Hospital Maitama General Hospital, Wuse General Hospital, Federal Staff Hospital and Turkish Hospital.

The security forces have cordoned off the blast scene while mop up activities were carried out.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack which happened at a popular and normally crowded shopping plaza, Boko Haram is suspected to be behind it, police said.
