A 19-year old youth on Sunday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself outside his residence in West Delhi, the police said.
"At around 6.30 a.m., Gulshan's father Ranbir found him lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot injury outside his residence in Dwarka's Matiala area," Deputy Commissioner of Police Anto Alphonse said.
"He was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared brought dead," the DCP said.
The hospital staff informed the local police regarding admission of a youth with a gunshot injury, Alphonse added.
"During investigation, it was found that Gulshan had received a gunshot injury from a very close range," the officer said, adding that four live cartridges were recovered from the pocket of the deceased.
"It appears to be a case of suicide, maybe accidental. We are investigating the case from other angles too," he added.
