More than 2,500 troops from security forces and emergency services will work on Saturday to ensure that the Copa del Rey football final between Barcelona and Deportivo Alaves runs without any incident, it was decided after a meeting held on Wednesday.
The match takes place at Vicente Calderon stadium, where trucks carrying more than 3,500 kilos are to be prohibited near the area, starting on Saturday until Sunday, reports Efe.
The game is considered high risk, with Spain placing it on level 4 of 5 on the anti-terrorist alert scale.
Two areas will be set up for the teams' fans and all attendees are advised to arrive early to allow time to pass through security controls.
The force, which includes 1,600 national police, is coordinated by the government delegation in Madrid after a meeting held on Wednesday with representatives of the Spanish Football Federation, national and local police and the Red Cross.
