Two Indian nationals have been arrested in Nepal's Bara district with a pistol, police said.

A joint security team of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force apprehended Chandan Kumar Raya, 20, and Sanjaya Kumar Raya, 19, of Bihar on Sunday, the Himalayan Times reported.

According to the police, the two tried to escape in a car during a routine security check. But the police circled their car and took the men in custody.

An Italian-made 9mm Browning Pistol was strapped onto the body of one of the men, the report said. A magazine and two rounds of bullets were also found in their possession.
