Typhoon Malakas and typhoon Meranti left 29 persons dead and 15 missing in five Chinese provincial regions as of Monday, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Triggering strong wind and downpours, the two typhoons have hit Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi since September 14, Xinhua news agency reported.
Over 61,000 houses were damaged to varying degrees, while 618,000 persons were evacuated to safer places.
The typhoons also destroyed 106,700 hectares of crops, with total direct economic losses estimated at 15.48 billion yuan (about $2.32 billion).
