There have been 32 violations of Indian airspace since 2013 but no violations of the maritime boundary, parliament was told on Tuesday.

"During the past two years and the current year, from January 2013 till 30th November 2015, a total of 32 violations of Indian airspace by aircraft from other countries have been reported," Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

"There has been no violation of Indian maritime boundary by any country during this period," he added.

"The reasons for such violations could not be ascertained," he said, adding that all such cases are taken up with the countries concerned through laid down channels as per established procedure.
