The Jharkhand Police in a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force on Thursday recovered 33 improvised explosive devices (IED) in Giridih district.
The explosives were recovered near Bantharo drainage at Parasnath hill and were planted in an area of 2 km radius.
A bomb disposal squad was called and the IEDs were defused. The police suspects the explosives were planted by Maoist guerrillas to target security personnel.
Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
