The government on Wednesday said that 337 posts are vacant in the country's aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
"As against the sanctioned posts of 1,320 in DGCA, 983 posts are filled and 337 posts are vacant," Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question.
"Recruitment is a continuous process and the vacancies are filled in consonance with recruitment rules as and when they arise."
According to the Minister, for technical posts and in view of urgency vacancies are filled up "from time to time on consultancy or contract basis."
