Four auto-rickshaw drivers have been arrested for convincing foreign tourists they were transporting to buy costly ornaments and jewellery from a certain shop from where they received a commission, police said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, Madhur Verma said various complaints were received regarding this gang that would pick up foreigners and misguide them.
"The TSR (three-seater rickshaw) drivers were targeting foreigner tourists roaming in the New Delhi district," he said.
Accordingly, two cases were registered under the Delhi Prevention of Touting and Malpractices Against Tourists Act, 2010.
All the four accused -- Manoj Kumar, 50, Ritesh, 36, Jitender Kumar, 41, and Amit, 26 -- have been arrested and their vehicles seized, the officer said.
