India has submitted a list of 46 monuments for their inclusion as Unesco World Heritage Sites, parliament was informed on Wednesday.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said the list was submitted to the World Heritage Centre in April 2014.
The list includes ancient Buddhists sites Sarnath and Varanasi, Chilika Lake in Odisha, Kangchendzonga National Park in Sikkim, Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, and Mughal Gardens in Kashmir.
Golconda Fort and Charminar - both now in Telangana - are also in the list.
