5.7 magnitude quake hits China

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted the border areas of China it shares with Kyrghyzstan Friday, authorities said.

The quake was largely felt in China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Xinhua quoted the China Earthquake Networks Center as saying.

There were no details about any casualties.
