An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter Scale hit Colombia, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicentre of the Tuesday quake was determined at 24 miles northeast of Mutata, Antioquia.
It lied at the depth of over six miles, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
