A five-storey partially damaged building collapsed in Ghaziabad on Friday evening, police said.
The incident took place at around 8.00 p.m in Khoda locality of the city bordering Delhi, along NH-24, the police said.
According to building owner Haji Rafique, the widening of NH-24 is underway in full swing and cranes keep shifting poles and other road construction materials near the highway.
During shifting of electric poles from near the building a day ago, one of the cranes had hit the building. Due to the impact, its front pillars of the building had been partially damaged, and it finally collapsed on Friday evening.
"No fatality has been reported from the collapse," said the Executive Officer of Khoda Municipality.
