A powerful quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Mexico Wednesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The earthquake happened 121 km south-west of El Dorado in Mexico, Xinhua reported.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 23.8168 degrees north latitude and 108.4233 degrees west longitude.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
