In a bid to decongest the busy National Highway-58 leading to Dehradun during peak hours, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has planned to construct a six-lane service road alongside it.
"The six-lane project would cost the authority Rs 65 crore. During peak hours of traffic, the buses from the national capital to Dehradun can take the alternate bypass route from Morti village of Rajnagar Extension which will join the NH-58 at Morti village," said Chief Engineer of GDA S.C. Dwiwedi.
This extension of the six-lane service road would facilitate the local commuters to commute smoothly, Dwiwedi said.
The detailed project report will be ready by the end of the month and the construction work would start within three months.
During this period, the GDA would buy land from farmers directly which would be beneficial to both the parties, the chief engineer added.
