7 kids hurt as two school vehicles collide

At least seven students and a driver were injured in a head-on collision between a mini-bus and a van from two different schools here Saturday morning, police said. The mini-bus driver was arrested for negligence.

The incident took place around 7 a.m. in north Delhi's Alipur area and all the injured left hospital after first aid, police said.

At least seven children of St. John's School were travelling in the mini-bus when it collided with the Rana Model School's van carrying 10 children, police said. Both schools are in Alipur.

"Two of the seven children in the bus were injured while five of the 10 children in the van were wounded. Van driver Dharambir, 38, was also injured," said a police officer.

 

A case of negligent driving was registered and mini-bus driver Nitin, 25, arrested, he said.
