Seven persons were killed and 12 injured in a passenger vehicle crash on Saturday morning near Nantohn village in Thibaw township of Myanmar's easternmost Shan state, a local police official said.
With 30 persons, including drivers and conductors on board, the vehicle on the Nay Pyi Daw - Lashio route crashed and overturned due to a slip on the road caused by heavy rainfall, according to the official, Xinhua news agency reported.
A total of 2,229 persons were killed in road accidents across Myanmar in the first half of 2016, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
