Eight people were killed and 12 injured on Thursday when a private bus rolled down a gorge in Nerwa, a village in Chopal in Himachal Pradesh, police said.
Nerwa is 120 km from the state capital. The bus was travelling to Tuni town from Vikas Nagar, both in Uttarakhand, and passing through Nerwa when it suddenly rolled down the 100-metre gorge.
Most of the victims were locals, the police said.
The exact cause of the accident is still not known, police added.
The injured people have been admitted to nearby government hospitals.
