Italian football giants AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura, who injured his left leg in Finland, will be out of action until the end of the season.
"AC Milan announces that Giacomo Bonaventura today underwent medical surgery," the club said in a statement on Wednesday, reports Efe.
"The surgery was necessary because of the complete detachment of his left adductor longus tendon from the bone. The recovery time will be four months, unless complications arise," the note added on the club's official website.
The midfielder had to retire in the 27th minute of the Serie A match played on Sunday against Udinese.
