Veteran CPI-M leader V.S. Achuthanandan, who has long been the bete noire of the majority faction in the Kerala unit led by state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Thursday said he was unsure if he will be able to retain the post of leader of opposition.

"All such things will be known only after I reach Delhi, where all such discussions will be taking place and hence I am unable to say anything on it now," he said to queries if he was confident about remaining leader of opposition.

A two-day meet of the central leadership of the party, which includes the politburo and the powerful central committee, begins Friday, during which a resolution from the Kerala unit of the party demanding the removal of Achuthanandan as leader of opposition for defying the party directives is likely to be taken up.
