Ace comedian and Lok Sabha member from Chalakudy in Kerala -- Innocent -- who was undergoing chemotherapy, said on Saturday that he is fit.
"Three days back, a PET scan was taken and it has been found out that I am perfectly fine after the treatment that I took in Delhi. From now on, I will be with my voters," Innocent told reporters near Kochi.
Since August, the popular actor-turned-politician was undergoing chemotherapy at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital following a disease reactivation of non-hodgkin's lymphoma, which was first detected in 2012 .
In a glittering film career that began in the 70s, Innocent, 66, has acted in more than 500 films. Since 2000, he is serving as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), the body of Malayalam film actors.
He said that the book he wrote while undergoing the treatment would be released in February next year and he will also don the grease paint again.
Innocent, who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls as a Left-backed independent candidate shocked many, when he defeated Congress heavyweight P.C. Chacko from the Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency .
