An emotional Adele stopped mid-performance at the 59th annual Grammy Awards during her tribute to late singer George Michael, apologised and restarted "Fastlove" saying she cannot "mess this up".
Adele, who kick-started the annual gala, returned on stage to pay a tribute to Michael who died on December 25, 2016 at the age of 53.
While performing the slowed-down version of Michael's single she paused and asked the band to re-start the tune.
"I'm sorry for swearing and I'm sorry for starting again. Can we please start it again? I'm sorry, I can't mess this up for him," Adele said before starting off again.
Adele looked emotional throughout, but after the mess, the audience gave a standing ovation for her efforts.
Adele started the annual awards gala by performing her single "Hello".
