Singer Adele, who has an year old son Angelo with husband Simon Konecki, suggested Kelly Clarkson not to have a baby as it might affect her career.
But 31-year-old Kelly, who recently announced she was expecting her first child with her husband Brandon Blackstock on Twitter, paid no attention to Adele's words of wisdom.
She has wanted a child for years and isn't worried about putting her career on hold to raise her family.
"I ran into her at the Grammys last year, and I was like, "So, when is your next album coming out?' She knows now I am a super fan. She's so sweet," Kelly told US Weekly magazine.
"She is my big favourite to work with just because I am a huge fan. She told me she was a big fan, too, and gave me some advice.
"She said, 'Girl, don't have a baby because everything else will go on the back burner. I am so happy living in babyland'," Kelly added.
This is the couple's first child.
Blackstock already has two sons Savannah, 11, and Seth, seven, from his previous marriage.
