Actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck has reportedly pulled out of directing FOX broadcasting company's pilot "The Middle Man".

According to online magazine Deadline, the 41-year-old bailed out due to a scheduling conflict with Warner Bros' "Man of Steel 2", in which he is set to play Batman.

He is also said to have other film commitments in the spring, when "The Middle Man" pilot is scheduled to shoot, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Due to his unavailability, the TV project is said to be on hold and FOX's executives are reportedly considering two options - hiring a new director and continuing with casting and shooting the pilot after a short break or waiting until after Affleck completes filming the "Batman vs. Superman" movie in the summer.

Affleck, known for directing the Oscar-winning movie "Argo", will continue to serve as executive producer on the crime drama series with Chay Carter.
