Afghan president to appoint four female envoys

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has decided to appoint four female ambassadors in his efforts to increase women's role in government, media reported on Sunday.

President Ghani has said that as per Islamic values he defended women's rights, reports Khaama press.

Ghani met a number of female activists in the presidential place in the capital city, and said women's right will never be sacrificed for peace.

He said appointments of women in key government positions and their portfolios would be announced next week.

President Ghani insisted that he will also take steps to increase women's role in provincial administrations.
