Two militants were killed in Afghanistan's Jalalabad city Friday when a bomb they were making exploded, police said.
The incident also wounded two women, police spokesman Hazrat Husain Mashriqiwal told Xinhua.
The men were busy preparing an improvised explosive device but it went off in the city, 120 km east of Kabul.
A total of 1,319 civilians were killed and 2,533 injured in conflict-related violence in the first half of last year, according to estimates by Afghan and UN mission officials.
