Afridi, Ajmal not given contracts by Pakistan Cricket Board

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has left out veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi and off-spinner Saeed Ajmal from its list of central contracts for the 2016-17 season.

Afridi was in category A, the highest rung in last year's contract while Ajmal was in category B. The PCB released its list on Thursday.

The PCB said as many as 30 players were included in four categories with Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, limited-overs captain Azhar Ali and Twenty20 captain Sarfraz Ahmed placed among eight players in category A.

Category A

Azhar Ali, Muhammad Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmad and Yasir Shah

 

Category B

Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Amir

Category C

Harris Sohail, Muhammad Rizwan, Imran Khan Sr., Shan Masood, Muhammad Irfan, Sami Aslam, Babar Azam, Imad Waseem, Hassan Ali

Category D

Anwer Ali, Zulfiqar Babar, Muhammad Asghar, Ahmed Shahzad, Umer Akmal Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Sohail Khan, Sohail Tanvir
