After Delhi, Mumbai and Goa get most e-tourist visa travellers

Goa ranks third in the list of Indian states who have attracted foreign travellers using the newly introduced e-tourist visa in March this year.

According to statistics released by the state information and publicity department the coastal state, well known as a beach and nightlife tourism destination globally, cornered 11.11 percent of the total foreign tourist arrivals in the country using e-visa in March.

The national capital attracted 46.76 percent of foreign tourist arrivals while Mumbai ranked second at 18.75 percent.

A total of 1,15,677 tourists arrived in March 2016 using the e-tourist visa, which was introduced for travellers from 150 countries intending to travel to India as tourists.

 

Tourists from Britain topped the list of e-tourist visa users at 27.74 percent, while tourists from the US and Russia ranked second and third respectively at 13.41 percent and 7.04 percent.
