BJP leader and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand nephew Chandra Kumar Bose on Thursday urged the Centre to unveil a statue of the revolutionary leader at the India Gate in New Delhi on his next birth anniversary, January 23, which he said, should be declared 'Liberation Day'.

Congratulating the NDA government at the Centre for unveiling the 182-meter statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Wednesday on the occasion of the leader's 143th birth anniversary and celebrating the day as National Unity Day, Bose tweeted that demands are rising for a statue of the Liberator of India in the national capital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on October 21, hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort to mark the 75th anniversary of the formation of 'Azad Hind government' headed by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in 1943.
