The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday cut off the electricity and water supply lines to Tripura head office of Kolkata-based Rose Valley Group, a chit-fund company, an official said here.

"The main office building of Rose Valley Group in Agartala is illegally constructed. We have asked the group to vacate the building by Tuesday," said an official with the AMC.

He said: "As the Rose Valley Group did not vacate the building, we disconnected the electricity and water supply lines as the first step."

The building, standing in the heart of the city, also houses the group's TV channel 'Khabar 365 Din'.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on March 4 raided seven Tripura offices of the group, including the state head office, and seized many documents.

"The CBI raids on the offices of Rose Valley Group in Tripura were part of the agency's nation-wide searches in the offices of the chit-fund group," a top police officer has told IANS.

The officer, who refused to be named, said the probe agency was scrutinising the seized documents of the company.
