Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Monday ignored queries in relation to whether the government is considering release of Bt Brinjal and following a plan to reduce trait value (royalty) for Bt cotton seeds.
The minister, who was in the city to inaugurate Indian Seed Congress, did not respond to questions posed by IANS on the issue.
It was reported that the government was likely to pursue a plan to bring down the trait value and the review committee on genetic manipulation (RCGM), the apex technical body under the department of biotechnology, favoured release of Bt Brinjal.
