Argentine striker Sergio Aguero and Spanish forward Manuel Agudo Nolito scored two goals each to guide Manchester City to a 4-1 victory over Stoke City on Saturday that took them to the top of the English Premier League football tournament.

City, coached by Spaniard Pep Guardiola, opened the scoring after 27 minutes through a penalty kick by Aguero, who scored his second goal nine minutes later, reports Efe.

Home team Stoke City scored its first and only goal in the 49th minute through a penalty kick by Spanish Bojan Krkic.

Spaniard substitute Nolito scored the third goal in the 86th minute and then netted the fourth in extra time to secure Manchester City's big victory.

Manchester City went to the top ahead of arch-rivals Manchester United on goal difference, both having won their opening two matches of the competition.
