National passenger carrier Air India on Friday said that its Ahmedabad-London flight was escorted by fighter jets after it had lost contact with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) over Hungary.
"AI 171 lost contact in Hungarian air space today," an Air India spokesperson said.
"This happened due to frequency fluctuation."
According to the spokesperson, the flight with 249 onboard landed safely in London.
