National flag carrier Air India on Friday introduced a flight service between New Delhi and Gorakhpur.
"With the commencement of this service, flyers from Gorakhpur will get connections to several domestic and international destinations, through hub Delhi," the airline said in a statement.
"Similarly, passengers arriving into Delhi from the Gulf and other international and domestic destinations will also be able to connect to Gorakhpur from Delhi by this flight."
According to the airline, the new flight service will operate six days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday on an ATR 72-600 aircraft.
In the recent past, the airline has connected Gwalior, Durgapur and Diu to the major metros under its "Connecting India" programme.
Currently, Air India is the only airline to operate to Gorakhpur.
