Ajax beat longtime rivals Feyenoord 3-1 in Amsterdam Wednesday to go through to the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup, the KNVB Beker.
In front of 50,000 spectators in the Amsterdam Arena Rotterdam, Feyenoord took the lead in the 7th minute. The visitors profited from bad defending by Ajax, reported Xinhua.
Tonny Vilhena beat Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer with a lob and Jean-Paul Boetius scored from close range.
In the second half, Feyenoord goalkeeper Erwin Mulder saved a header by Lasse Schone, but in the rebound, Bojan scored. The Spaniard headed in the 2-1 in the 68th minute. In injury time substitute Thulani Serero added the third Ajax goal.
Also on Wednesday, Marnick Vermijl earned NEC a 1-0 victory over FC Utrecht, while PEC Zwolle beat the amateurs of JVC Cuijk 5-1.
Cup holders AZ already became the first semi-finalist Tuesday after defeating Roda JC 2-0 in Kerkrade.
