Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen was revealed on Thursday as a new signing for FC Barcelona for the next five football seasons as a replacement for Chilean Claudio Bravo, who is on the brink of a move to Manchester City.
Barcelona announced through their website that the 27-year-old Dutchman had been signed from Amsterdam side AFC Ajax for 13 million euros ($14.6 million) plus two million euros ($2.2 million) variables, with a release clause of 60 million euros ($67.7 million), reports Efe.
Cillessen arrived on Thursday morning at Barcelona where he passed a medical and signed his contract.
Cillessen will be officially presented on Friday to begin a new era with the Catalan side, after five years with Ajax winning the Eredivisie three times.
The new signing comes as a result of the expected departure of Chilean keeper Bravo after two great seasons, as he refuses to be alternated with German Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
